Oakhanger is a rural Hampshire village with an attractive green, church (St. Mary Magdalene) and village hall.  Oakhanger has a very active Community and there are events held in the village hall throughout the year.  There are a variety of houses including pretty thatched cottages and a recently renovated village pub, The Hanger Free House. There is also a selection of holiday accommodation available. To the south of the village there is a large space satellite tracking station, although this is not open to the public.  There are several flourishing businesses in the village including the Chocolate Frog Cafe, a traditional Joinery as well as Oakhanger Farm Livery.  To the north of the village lies Shortheath Common, a nature reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC) which covers some 143 acres of heath, woodland, lake, pond and bog.
