Oakhanger Village Hall Home

This website is under construction and more information will be added soon. Please come back to see how we are getting on.

The  village is arranged around the main street with its Green, Church and Village Hall.  Oakhanger has a very active Community with events held in the village hall  throughout the year.  There is variety  of houses including pretty thatched cottages together with  a village pub, The Red Lion which is about to undergo a full restoration. There is also a selection of holiday accommodation available. To the south of the village there is a large space satellite tracking station although this is not open to the public.  Within the village are several flourishing businesses including  The Red Dog Art Gallery, the Chocolate Frog Cafe, a traditional Joinery as well as Oakhanger Farm Livery.  To the north of the village lies Shortheath Common  which  is a nature reserve and a  Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC) which  covers some 143 acres of heath, woodland, lake, pond  and bog. For further information on Shortheath Common click here.
