Village Volunteers
Join Oakhanger’s Volunteer Register!
Not everybody wants to be on a Committee. You may just prefer to give a few hours of time to help with events - some people have helped the village for many years in this way! It’s a fantastic way to get to know your fellow villagers, make friends, build new skills and give back to your community.
You can join our volunteer register by using the contact form on this website to send us your name and contact details.
No previous experience is required and there is no commitment of your time when you sign up. We simply add you to the list of potential helpers who receive an email when we need help.
We know that everybody is busy and wary of taking on new commitments, so please be assured that we will not ask for more than you can give.

Cooking or baking cakes for village events |
Manning stalls at village events (book stall, children’s games, tombola, plants) |
Serving in the kitchen, at the BBQ or behind the bar |
Helping to put up/take down marquees |
Helping to set up/clear up after events |
Practical help with hall maintenance e.g. painting, weeding, gardening |
Management of one-off projects e.g. replacing patio area; digging hedges etc. |
Occasional tidying/clearing of areas |
Support with organising our annual village raffles |
